The CEMS Global Sustainability Week aims to raise awareness on the importance of sustainability in business and everyday life. Sustainability is at the heart of the alliance’s DNA. As future leaders we can make a difference and contribute to a better and sustainable world. It starts by acting responsibly in relation with society as a whole.

#CEMSGSW15 is a Student Board initiatives that have been running for 3 years now.

This year we will focus on one topics :

Education in developing countries

Today around 33 million Sub-Saharan African children wake up every day without a school to attend. Your CEMS Student Board is collaborating with Building Tomorrow, an NGO that empowers local Ugandan communities and provides them with the tools to build schools in Uganda. Together we can raise the 30,500 dollars required to help build our new CEMS Ugandan school, a goal we set for this academic year.

Here’s what to expect from your CEMS Club :

• Conference & Movie night – Tuesday 20

All the funds raised from this event will support Building Tomorrow, an NGO that empowers local Ugandan communities and provides them with the tools to build schools in Uganda. Together with other CEMS schools we aim at raising the 30,500 dollars required to help build our new CEMS Ugandan school!!

The movie will be followed by a panel discussion with DIAKONIE, a NGO offering help and support for living a dignified and valuable life despite age, illness, disability, isolation, difficult social situations and other life crisis. They will discuss their projects on the African continent.

• Pub Quizz – Wednesday 21

Here at CEMS Club we thought it was about time to come up with another excuse for getting you all together. Being the creative bunch we are, we decided another Pub related activity was just what we needed! 😀

So put your thinking caps on and let’s see if CEMSies really do tick all the boxes… 😉

And guess what?! When it comes to drinking for a good cause, no limits apply! A small entrance fee (50 Kc) will be totally devoted to www.buildingtomorrow.org. Bear in mind every single brick counts when building a school!
